Greetings knowledge seekers!
I've been looking into a few things that have come into my realm as the interests of friends of mine but I am latching onto them as my own interests now.
After watching a documentary about Mushroom hunters (Know your Mushrooms, watch it online here) recommended by a friend I started looking into the Mycology Society of Toronto (their website). And as it turns out they seem like a friendly bunch and accept newcomers in to participate in a Fall or Spring foray (free of charge)- I would recommend anyone interested to have a look at their site and learn about it before committing. I have also learned that membership is a mere $30 a year, and gives you access to MST events. It seems like a steal to me!
In a similar vein I've been looking at the Planetarium at the University of Toronto. They host talks and tours on the first Thursday of most months, and there is a form on their website to reserve a spot. And it's free! I, for one, am very excited!
See you in the forest and the stars!
